Exile on Main Street is the opening episode of Season 6, which airs on September 24, 2010. The episode is confirmed to show that some time has passed since the Apocalyptic events of Swan Song, and Dean Winchester has been retired from hunting and has been living with Lisa Braeden and her son following what he thinks is the loss of his brother. However, Sam Winchester, revealed to have been somehow rescued from Lucifer's Cage in Hell at the very end of Swan Song, eventually reveals himself to his brother and ends up pulling Dean back into his old life of hunting as Heaven and Hell have both been left in chaos since the halting of the Apocalypse, leaving Angels, Demons, and monsters of every kind to roam the Earth amidst a lawless landscape.
